Events and Environment Research

There are three special events in furniture design industry:
-Design Made Trade
-Salone Satellite Milan
-100% Design Tokyo

After doing some research, i have decided to choose Salone Satellite Milan, which is opened publicly to design students, so it will be a good opportunity for those who are still studying and wanted to exhibit their works.

Esquisse 4

This is the last esquisse that requires us form a group of 2 or 3, and make a chair that is able to sit on, even with back support. Me, Victoria, and Yunita came up with the idea of having the slotting system only to form the chair, with the chair itself to have a back support in an angle so that it will be comfortable to sit on. In class, we resolved the 1:4 prototype, then finally made it in 1:1 scale. And this is our first time having experience in the lasercut machine, which was not successful at the beginning ( some parts were burnt) but eventually it worked well.

Esquisse 3

Doing this esquisse needs some thought and planning to make it possible to hold 100kg with such a minimal materials allowed to use. Plus, an innovative locking system has to be used. To do this, i was using the slot and tabbing system. I combined two long cardboard which are bent to a 90 degree angle. Then, intersecting two other shorter cardboards in the middle to hold them firmly and strong.
