Esquisse 2

This is quite a tricky one. To achieve the final product, i had to do some experiments three times. The first one was done in class (workshop) and it was only a tryout to know the correct measurements to do the five sided pyramid. Then on the second attempt, i tried to find the best locking method. i failed, because it could not hold the pyramid strong enough if it is just one slot used. Finally on the final attempt, i succeeded by having the slots on each triangles, to hold it firmly and strongly. Below are some photos showing the progress.

Esquisse 1

This week 2 project is all about knowing the ma terials that we are going to use for the final project of Furniture Design, which is the 10mm X anita Board. In this excercise we have to construct and document an open ended cube sized 100x100x100mm, each corner to use different folding technique, and also a locking method to hold the cube closed. The most interesting part of this furniture design subject is we will be creating things without the use of glue, so it's all about the locking technique that is crucial. Here are some photos of my attempt :)
